Healthy 5 Ingredient Chocolate Avocado Mousse
I've been wanting to try this dessert recipe for a while but never got around to it until i was raiding my kitchen cupboards for a sweet treat. The great thing about this recipe is you can tailor it to whats in your kitchen, as long as you have cocoa powder and 1 or more avocados the rest is up to you. The coconut sugar adds sweetness, the coconut milk softens the texture and the vanilla extract adds flavour. So technically you could use anything from honey to soy milk to almond extract or even dried dates!
I found that just by using these 5 ingredients I created a healthy, dairy free, rich chocolate dessert that is guilt free!
1 ripe avocado
1/3 cup of coconut milk
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup coconut sugar
2tsp vanilla extract
1. Spoon out ripen avocado into chunks and add into blender
2. Add in the other ingredients in any order
3. Blend until thick and serve (or chill for an extra chocolatey taste in the evening)
This recipe makes 1 large portion or 2 small portions and can last around 2-3 days refrigerated.
For mousse that's a little more whipped, just add 1tsp baking soda!
