The Polished Daily Makeup Look
My daily makeup routine typically consist of a BB cream, a quick brow contour, a dusting of blusher, a flick of felt tip liner and a brush of mascara. But for those days where I’m feeling a little 'crappy' or I’m off out after work and don’t want to look OTT in the day time then this is my routine.
A collection of makeup that creates a more pristine and put together day time look that can easily be turned into night time glam just by adding a bold red lip.
Beautiful Movements Mineral Foundation & Concealer
My choice of base that will give a flawless finish and lasts all day is the Beautiful Movements mineral foundation and concealer. The product itself is a finely milled mineral powder with buildable coverage. The line itself contains 8 different shades that are put into 4 separate categories to perfectly match your skin tone. For those who have a light skin tone with neutral undertones there is the Vanilla Rose Collection, the Feather Dust Collection for those with light- medium tone with pink undertones, Velvet Dawn Collection for those with a neutral medium tan and finally for those with darker, golden tones there is the Chiffon Sun Collection. I personally am a mix of the two shades in the Velvet Dawn Collection.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad Palette
One of my all-time favourite eye palettes that is incredibly versatile with a mix of highly pigmented matt and shimmering tones.. For this look I used the shade ‘Foxy’ as the eye base (all over the lid) and the matt brown shade ‘Tease’ in the crease line. I also used this palette to fill in my brows with the shade ‘Tease’ and a tiny tap of the shade ‘Black Out’ to create a darker brown.
To highlight the brow bone and also the inner corners of the eye I used the Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad Palette in the yellow toned shimmering shade. The pigment in these shades isn't too great which makes the yellow shade the perfect natural highlighter isn't too glittery nor too yellow toned!
Bourjois Black Clubbing Liner
I’ve used this liner for years. It’s one of those products that you always fall back on as nothing can beat its staying power and ease of use. The Bourjois Clubbing Liquid Liner has a thin tipped brush that carries just the right amount of product to create a feline flick in one smooth sweep. It has the ultimate waterproof staying power and is the perfect product to create any liquid liner look. With this look I created a thick line with a small cat flick for a subtle but bold look.
Maybelline Brow Drama – Dark Brown
This isn’t the best brow gel I’ve used but to help those pesky hairs stay in place and also add some pigment to create a thicker brow, this little round shaped brush does the job.
Nars Laguna Bronzer
The perfect bronzer to create a contoured makeup look. I like to use this product to create prominent cheek bones and also sharpen the jaw line for a more contoured look.
Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara
Never have Maxfactor created a mascara that I didn’t like. I’m typically one for a small curved brush mascara so even I’m surprised that this has (polar opposite) large straight barrelled mascara brush is now at the top of my favourites list! It creates longer length thicker lashes with just a couple of small sweeps and also with due to its ‘spikey’ texture creates clump free natural lashes.
No7 Pop & Glow Peach Cream Blush Stick
To finish of the look and add a slight natural blushed cheek that isn’t too bold I used the No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush Stick in the peachy shade. This product blends into the skin like a dream and had buildable pigment that leaves an almost cream to powder matt finish.
