Oakwood Soaperie (*)

I have my moments where I get a little too giddy about bath products and I have to remind myself that most of the time what you find on the high-street can be a little over priced for what they contain. Speaking of ingredients, bath products nowadays probably contain more chemicals that you’ll find in a class room and that can’t be necessary for your skin?

Therefor I’m a big believer of natural ingredients and how they can aid in helping to improve the skin. This is when I stumbled upon Oakwood Soaperie.

Oakwood Soaperie are a soap and bathing products specialist who create homemade treatments, botanicals, skincare, soaps, salts and more using all natural ingredients. None of their products contain preservatives or sulphates so they’re perfectly suited for sensitive skin.

They’re based in the North East of England and create their luxurious recipes in their rural workshop situated in the National Trust Gibside Estate. Their products contain ingredients such as pure essential oils, clays, plant oils, butters and Northumbrian Honey and Beeswax.

I was lucky enough to be sent some soap samples and can honestly say that they not only smell incredible but feel silky smooth without being too greasy. Some soaps contain the healing ingredients of shea butter whilst others contain the almost edible stimulating ingredient of cocoa butter. Upon the soaps I received was an array of scents such as calming chamomile, lavender, clary sage, sweet orange, rosemary, ylang ylang and a relaxing vanilla.

On application the soaps glide over the skin and feel as though they are cleansing the surface whilst also feeding deeper layers with essential nourishment to soften, smooth and clean the skin. Their relaxing scents create a calming spa like experience, so much so I've been using these soaps as bath melts and popping one in when running a bath!

Psst Oakwood Soaperie do not test on animals and sell more than a handful of vegan friendly products.

Check them out http://www.oakwoodsoaperie.co.uk/ and they're also on Etsy!
