Bourjois Poudre de Riz de Java - £9.99

I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Bourjois Java Rice Powder for a while but it appears to be pretty popular with makeup fans and beauty bloggers. To be honest, it’s no wonder it sells so quickly with its cute vintage style packaging.

However I’ve finally managed to pick up a lonely straggler in Boots before anyone else spotted it. It was bits of a whim purchase as I’ve never loved lose powders due to their messy contents. However there was something about this powder being an old classic, a reinvention of their most popular product in 1879 and honestly? Its packaging is a too pretty to pass up.

The powder itself is an intensely milled pink toned sheer powder *and breath* with a slight shimmer. It has that classic vintage makeup scent, a slight floral baby powder undertone that isn't too over powering.

The twist and pat internal opening means minimal waste and no dust covered clothes – hurrah!

I applied the product using a large base powder brush with a small amount of powder over my t-zone and on the tops of cheeks. The powder leaves your skin looking surprisingly quite matt with only a slight glow (no shimmer), which is the perfect combination for healthy looking skin. It feels as though the powder sinks into the skin rather than sitting on top looking cakey!

A little goes a long way with the Bourjous Poudre de Riz de Java and although it is an ‘illuminating’ powder I’ve say its the perfect finishing powder to mattify the T-zone without drying out the skin.

However as this products seems to be a firm favorite I'll be grabbing one whenever I spot it on the Bourjois shelves and stocking up!
