Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Shampoo and Extra Volume Conditioner

I haven’t heard a bad thing about Moroccan Oil’s hair treatment and being a fan of it myself I got a little giddy when I finally had the opportunity to trial more from their range. The Moroccan Oil Repair Shampoo and Volume Conditioner is said to infuse hair with proteins and nutrients as well as leaving the hair full bodied and glossy. Bingo!

I struggle with damaged ends and flat roots. My hair is thick and long so I’m always on the hunt for something that will boost my roots yet hydrate my hair (harder to find than you think). I have to say that used together, these products don’t work so great as team and completely cancelled out each other’s qualities. Although my hair was soft and healthy looking after using both products together, it was flat and didn’t have that natural swishy movement I always hope for. However used separately alongside a regular shampoo or regular conditioner these two are like super hair hero’s…. they're greater on their own.

Both products have the signature Moroccan Oil scent which can be a little like Marmite to some people but i love the musky, sultry sweet scent. As for the silky cream shampoo, it left my hair luxuriously soft and smooth without giving that 5 days unwashed kind of OTT shiny. It helped to hide my split ends and looked almost professionally washed (if it wasn’t for my lazy blow drying technique).

The conditioner used a long side a regular shampoo did give extra volume, just everywhere but the roots which is where I need it most (cue lion mane image before brushing). It did however still leave my hair looking hydrated/ smooth and there was no need for me to use the extra moisture from the Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment. I’d definitely recommend this if you have fine hair or a style that needs volume all over. However if you’re like me and have super thick hair that only needs volume at the roots then this extra volume conditioner might not be worth the purchase.

From my experience the Morrocan Oil shampoo and conditioner are worth a splurge purchase and fortunately for your purse I think they work best in an either or situation.
