Dr Jart+ Premium BB Cream - £24

So I wanted a moisturiser for holiday that would give me some coverage without sliding off, keep my skin hydrated and almost certainly contain SPF. So after doing my usual beauty rating research to find the best for my dry-combination skin type I picked up the Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm.

The Dr Jart+ brand has only recently been introduced to the UK market and they have a range of 4 different BB creams that promise to help 4 different skin types. You can pick their products up in Boots.

The Premium BB cream is targeting at a more mature market, containing gentle mineral ingredients such as soy bean oil that forms a light healthy glow to the appearance after application. It promises to reduce imperfections, lift the skin and target those pesky signs of ageing. It contains the highest SPF out of the BB range being SPF 40 and a big factor (get it?) for me picking this up. The packaging is a hard plastic tube with a bonus pump for no product waste! The cream itself comes in 1 shade to match all and is a thick, gel like consistency which I find sinks into the skin more naturally.

I applied it using my Real Techniques buffing brush using 1 full pump in total for the whole face. On application the product naturally absorbed into my skin and perfectly matched my skin tone which was surprising as before blending the product is tinted grey but after a couple seconds adapts incredibly to the skin. It left a healthy, light glow and overall a medium flawless coverage (even disguising blemishes). The thick formula felt extremely light weight on one application and can be built up for a more flawless finish that a medium-heavy foundation can give.

I wouldn’t suggest the Premium cream if you have oily skin as the gel like formula could sit on top of the skin as I found a little around my nose but nothing a light swish of matt powder wouldn't fix! If you do have oily skin try the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream which leaves a more matt finish.

But I really love this product the coverage was more than your average BB cream/ tinted moisturiser (leaving a natural flawless finish) and the product stayed put/ hydrated for the whole day and even night without reapplying. I'm a big fan of dewy skin and this is by far my favourite base, I will even go as far as saying that I will be swapping my daily foundation for the Dr Jart+ Premium BB cream!

I took a before and after picture so I could see the difference much more clearly, and the difference is incredible.

  2. I've read a couple of reviews on these BB creams and I'm so intrigued! I'm looking for something with a lighter coverage for when my skin (hopefully) improves!

    1. Its one of the best. I found Laura Mercier to be too light and the Nars tinted moisturiser (although is amazing) Isn't great when your in a hot climate with all that sheen x
