Well hello there little red dress. Yes RED. My wardrobe is dancing for joy at hanging something other than black, grey or white and if I'm honest this rather rosy color is working its way up in my 'must have everything in that color' books.

I was contacted by Warehouse who kindly let me go wild in their online dress collection and i couldn't help but chose this little number I had already eyed up in store. Its definitely one of those dresses that ticks the versatile box. Its plain yet origami style can turn it from day time into going out so much so i was originally wanting to do a date night style post with this outfit. However after playing around with jewellery, hats, belts and scarves I couldn't help but pair it with my truly loved fedora, making it that little more daytime dressy.

What makes this dress different is that it doesn't just have one little detail to grab the attention (as if the post box red color doesn't already). But with the key hole back, exposed zip shoulders, origami front and perfectly cut neck means its flattering shape is a big bonus in my books.

I also think this dress would look super cute teamed with a black thick buckle belt in which i'm currently on the hunt for!

Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy - Daily Energising Gel Wash

I've been after a daily facial wash for a while, Something to wake me up in a morning and freshen my face ready for the usual lotions and potions. I research the benefits of natural ingredients a heck of a lot so I knew I wanted it to contain that rather silent skin brightener - grapefruit (Yes I am that person who spends 15 minutes in Boots reading through the massive list of ingredients in skin products).

I'm already a big fan of the Garnier brand especially the Pure Active Exfo-brusher wash which works a treat on making my blemishes go into hiding. But this bottled beauty caught my eye (how could it not in its rather luminous orange packaging). It contains grapefruit, pomegranate and vitamin C. All ingredients in which contain natural anti oxidants to fight signs of wrinkles, blemishes, repair the skin and restore its color and tone.

The formula is a light-medium gel consistency that once applied to damp skin transforms into a foam, which meant I could massage the product into my skin without it turning into a Mrs Doubtfire cream tea moment and dripping off my face. The scent of this product makes it a great morning face wash for that wake me up feel. A citric, grapefruit scent with a slight hint of a vanilla like ingredient to mellow down the tangy tones. After first use the gel wash left my skin feeling super clean, fresh and strangely energised without drying my skin out.

The product is targeted towards skin that is prone to imperfections and although my skin has been behaving its blemish known self recently i did notice that my skin looked a lot healthier and more glowing after a couple uses.

I'd really recommend this product if your after a morning face wash to use as a 'pick me up' that helps fight imperfections and aids dull skin. A definite repurchase!

Foot Works Marine Salt Hydrating Balm

So the sandals are out and (in my case) out come those coral painted toot-sies.

I’ve never had any beauty problems with my feet but they sure do need a treat before they go on show.  And there’s something uplifting about smothering them with cream and pulling on some socks.

But I have to admit, I hate wearing anything on my feet in bed especially when the temperatures uncomfortably warm. So I picked up this little tube of hydrating foot balm by Avon. It is actually been discontinued from Avon but available online from Amazon, EBay, etc.

It contains sea salts and marine algae which immediately grabbed my ‘natural ingredient alert’ attention.  The product itself is a gel like formula that has what I can only describe as fresh sea air scent (a mixture of salt, aloe vera and fresh washing). At first I used way too much and was left with a greasy like texture but after lesson learnt I used a 10p sized amount and massaged it over the whole both my feet.  Definitely a plus when a little product goes a long way!

The light formula instantly sinks into the skin without leaving that pesky greasy evidence and feet immediately felt nourished and fresh. I can imagine if you had dry feet this product would work a treat after a couple uses as it left my feet looking (cue one eyebrow up) healthier after just one use.

Most foot creams are a thick, heavy, cream formula that take forever to sink in that only ends in my becoming impatient and having a cartoon banana moment. But this light gel consistency is time saving flip flops dream and for around only £5 it’s a major bargain. It’d also be great to instantly refresh the feet after a whole day in shoes.

Holiday Wear with Matalan

Well hello little ray of sunshine and an unusually bright outfit.

It’s surprising but I do actually tend to wear brighter coloured clothes on holiday than I would typically wear in the UK. Even with this burst of heat we’re having at the moment I’m still sticking to my fashion favoured darker shades because I’m typically an Autumn/ Winter girl at heart.

However, a little known brand called Matalan contacted me and asked me if I’d be interested in throwing together a summer themed blog post. With my long weekend away coming up and a chance to dip my mellow yellow painted toes into some more colour I jumped at the chance.

Of course I would have to have a little black in there somewhere. But I chose this floral printed swing skirt which is super comfortable and a flattering shape. If you’re heading to the beach it’d be great as a cover up teamed with a bikini top as it’s the perfect length to get those pins tanned and still walk around with your modesty.

I also find that whenever you turn the heat up I hate wearing anything with straps and my jewellery gets stripped back to basics. But I feel naked without anything on my neck or wrists so I chose this beaded choker necklace that adds the ‘I’ve made lots of effort’ effect when really you’ve thrown on the first outfit at the top of your suitcase.

The bag I chose is perfect for walking around in the sun or heading to the beach. An ombre effect with large rope handles and a Mary Poppins style interior that fits more than it looks. It’s a great day time bag for holiday to carry around those sun protecting necessities with a laid back slouchy design.

Accessorising with Marc by Marc Jacobs - Sponsored Post

Every girl loves an accessory, and Marc by Marc Jacobs produce some of the coolest and quirkiest around. The latest offerings definitely don’t disappoint, so read on for our top picks.

Daytime Cool
A light-coloured bag looks gorgeous in summer and makes a nice change from the black leather tote most of us carry throughout the cooler months. Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags are highly sought after, and once you get your hands on one, it’s not difficult to see why! The Q Natasha Grained Leather Tote in nude is just beautiful and will see you right through summer. The neutral shade will go with absolutely everything, while the elegant shape means you’ll nail this season’s ladylike trend.

Once you’ve got the arm candy, it would be a shame not to set it off with a beautiful watch! If there’s one thing more popular than rose gold right now, it’s mixed metals, so the Henry Chronograph Watch, in silver and rose gold tone stainless steel, ticks off two trends in one. This stunning piece of jewellery will look amazing with everything from smart work blouses to casual tees, and thanks to the combination of metals, it’ll work with everything in your jewellery box too.

Hot Summer Nights
For a sophisticated look on a night out this summer, why not go for a simple white dress and add some interest with a couple of stunning accessories? Name tag necklaces have proved a huge hit since being spotted on celebrities like Rihanna and Kim Kardashian, but Marc by Marc Jacobs offers a subtle twist on the trend with the gold tone Chain Loop Bracelet. We think this delicate bracelet will look fantastic against tanned summer skin.

To complete the look, the stunning pink and blue Printed Brushed Satin Wedge Sandals are perfect. Teamed with that plain white dress, they’ll really make you stand out from the crowd. Plus, the wedge heel means you’ll be able to dance all night – an added bonus!

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie – RRP £16

The Marvelous Moxie is the new ‘plump up’ lip product range created by Bare Minerals which includes lip glosses, sticks and liners.

I’ve always been a little picky with lip glosses, its Russian roulette over the sticky or non sticky texture and so usually favor more for lipsticks. But I was lucky enough to win a tube with the shade specifically created for Cosmopolitan magazine (the shade ‘Show Off’ is pretty close to this one).

The product itself has a precision doe-foot applicator which is long and pointed providing just the right amount of product on application. The scent of this lip gloss is pretty darn special, a candy sweet scent with a hint of fresh mint that could only end in consuming half of it from your lips.

The formula is a medium consistency with a sheer medium-light pink pigment. It applies a dream and leaves a tingling sensation that feels fresh. The texture I have to admit is a teeny tiny bit sticky but not the wind blown hair in the mouth kind of sticky and I suppose it is a gloss after all.

After application this gloss leaves a juicy plump look with a tinted pink sheer shade. It’s a great lip gloss for Summer with the cooling mint sensation and light color coverage. Considering I’m not one for glosses this little tube does live in my handbag for times I'm wanting a au-natural glossy lip!

Dr Jart+ Premium BB Cream - £24

So I wanted a moisturiser for holiday that would give me some coverage without sliding off, keep my skin hydrated and almost certainly contain SPF. So after doing my usual beauty rating research to find the best for my dry-combination skin type I picked up the Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm.

The Dr Jart+ brand has only recently been introduced to the UK market and they have a range of 4 different BB creams that promise to help 4 different skin types. You can pick their products up in Boots.

The Premium BB cream is targeting at a more mature market, containing gentle mineral ingredients such as soy bean oil that forms a light healthy glow to the appearance after application. It promises to reduce imperfections, lift the skin and target those pesky signs of ageing. It contains the highest SPF out of the BB range being SPF 40 and a big factor (get it?) for me picking this up. The packaging is a hard plastic tube with a bonus pump for no product waste! The cream itself comes in 1 shade to match all and is a thick, gel like consistency which I find sinks into the skin more naturally.

I applied it using my Real Techniques buffing brush using 1 full pump in total for the whole face. On application the product naturally absorbed into my skin and perfectly matched my skin tone which was surprising as before blending the product is tinted grey but after a couple seconds adapts incredibly to the skin. It left a healthy, light glow and overall a medium flawless coverage (even disguising blemishes). The thick formula felt extremely light weight on one application and can be built up for a more flawless finish that a medium-heavy foundation can give.

I wouldn’t suggest the Premium cream if you have oily skin as the gel like formula could sit on top of the skin as I found a little around my nose but nothing a light swish of matt powder wouldn't fix! If you do have oily skin try the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream which leaves a more matt finish.

But I really love this product the coverage was more than your average BB cream/ tinted moisturiser (leaving a natural flawless finish) and the product stayed put/ hydrated for the whole day and even night without reapplying. I'm a big fan of dewy skin and this is by far my favourite base, I will even go as far as saying that I will be swapping my daily foundation for the Dr Jart+ Premium BB cream!
